Helicopter Transfer Cannes to Vence

Cannes and Vence lie just 17 nautical miles apart, a distance so short it is flown almost exclusively by helicopter, with the Airbus H130 the natural choice given its speed, quiet cabin and ability to operate from compact landing sites near both destinations. The flight itself takes only a matter of minutes once airborne from Cannes Mandelieu, the town’s dedicated general and business aviation airport just west of the Croisette. Arrival brings travellers into Nice Côte d’Azur’s helicopter facilities, from where Vence sits a short drive into the surrounding hills. The contrast between the two towns is part of the appeal: Cannes, defined by its film festival glamour and yacht-lined harbour, gives way quickly to Vence’s quieter Romanesque streets and its connection to Matisse, whose Chapelle du Rosaire remains a highlight for art-minded visitors. Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with its ramparts and galleries, lies only minutes further into the hills. This route suits travellers based in Cannes for festival season, a boat show, or simply a stay along the Croisette, who wish to reach Vence without the delays that can affect road transfers during the town’s busiest weeks. The helicopter’s flexibility also makes it a popular choice for combining a lunch reservation in the hills with an evening event back on the coast, and because flight time is measured in minutes rather than hours, same-day return trips are the norm rather than the exception on this short link. Beyond festival season, this link is also popular with travellers attending the Cannes Yachting Festival or MIPIM, who use the short hop to reach a quieter dinner reservation or overnight stay in the hills above Nice after a long day on the Croisette.
