Private Jet Portland to Alexandria

Portland International Airport, gateway to Oregon’s largest city and a region known for its bridges, breweries and easy access to both mountains and coast, is the starting point for a long sector to Alexandria covering roughly 5,970 nautical miles. An ultra-long-range jet is required for a crossing of this scale, and the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 6000 typically take the assignment, cruising near 45,000 feet through a flight of approximately eleven and a half hours. The routing carries the aircraft east across the North American continent and the Atlantic before curving over southern Europe and descending into Borg El Arab International Airport on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. Portland’s temperate, often overcast climate stands in sharp contrast to the destination, where Alexandria enjoys a Mediterranean climate of mild winters and warm, dry summers along its harbour. That harbour has anchored trade and scholarship since Alexander the Great founded the city more than two thousand years ago, and its modern waterfront reflects that legacy through the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Qaitbay Citadel, built where the ancient Pharos lighthouse once stood. The Corniche, stretching for miles along the coast, offers a very different rhythm from Portland’s riverside neighbourhoods, trading craft culture for the bustle of a working Mediterranean port. Given the length of the crossing, cabin comfort and endurance take priority over raw speed, and both recommended aircraft types provide flat-bed seating and enclosed lavatories suited to the long haul. This pairing tends to suit Pacific Northwest executives and travellers whose business interests occasionally extend into Egypt and the wider eastern Mediterranean, where a single nonstop sector remains preferable to a broken journey through a connecting hub.
