Private Jet Ocala to Cavallo

Ocala International Airport, in the heart of Florida’s horse country, provides a relaxed departure point for the roughly 4,340 nautical mile flight to Cavallo. A heavy business jet is well matched to this distance, and both the Gulfstream G550 and Bombardier Global 6000 can complete the crossing non-stop, typically cruising around 43,000 to 45,000 feet to make the most of smoother air and better fuel economy over such a long sector. Cavallo, part of the Lavezzi archipelago at Corsica’s southern tip, has no airstrip of its own, so passengers arrive via Figari-Sud Corse followed by a short transfer onto the island. There, the contrast with Ocala’s rolling pastures is immediate: car-free lanes wind between private villas, pink granite boulders frame water of remarkable clarity, and the Strait of Bonifacio stretches towards Sardinia on the horizon. The nearby citadel of Bonifacio, its buildings stacked along dramatic limestone cliffs above an old harbour, makes for an easy half-day excursion. Guests leaving the horse farms and oak hammocks around Ocala behind will find little that is familiar beyond the warmth, trading inland Florida greenery for granite islets and open Mediterranean sea. This route suits travellers after a genuine change of scenery and pace, with the chosen aircraft’s range and cabin comfort making the long crossing feel like an unhurried extension of the trip rather than an obstacle standing between departure and arrival. Ocalas relatively quiet airfield makes for an efficient departure compared with the busier fields further south in Florida, a useful advantage when a long transatlantic sector lies ahead.
