Private Jet Exumas to Virginia Beach

The Exumas sit approximately 800 nautical miles from Virginia Beach, a distance suited to a turboprop such as the Pilatus PC-12 for smaller parties or a light jet where speed and cabin space matter more. Flights depart Exuma International Airport, gateway to a chain of cays famous for swimming pigs, sandbars and some of the clearest water anywhere in the Bahamas, before tracking north over open ocean toward the Mid-Atlantic coast. Where the Exumas trade on remoteness and natural spectacle, Virginia Beach offers a fully developed resort experience centred on its three-mile Atlantic boardwalk, one of the longest uninterrupted stretches of pleasure beach on the East Coast. First Landing State Park preserves a pocket of maritime forest and cypress wetland just inland, while Cape Henry Lighthouse recalls the 1607 landing of Virginia’s first English colonists nearby. Naval Station Oceana adds a working, military dimension to the skies above the resort strip, distinct from the quiet of an Exumas cay. This pairing suits travellers moving between a private-island or sandbar-hopping holiday and business or family life on the Mid-Atlantic coast, particularly those who prefer to avoid a connection through Nassau. A turboprop keeps the sector economical for two or three passengers, while a light jet remains available for larger groups wanting a faster climb and a quieter cabin over the roughly two-hour crossing. Many who fly this route are combining a stay at one of the Exumas’ private-island resorts with business or family commitments back on the Mid-Atlantic coast, appreciating the ability to depart directly from Exuma International Airport rather than connecting through Nassau. The roughly two-hour flight time also makes a shorter, long-weekend visit to the cays a realistic option for those based near Virginia Beach.
