Private Jet Berry Islands to St. Petersburg

The hop from the Berry Islands down to St Petersburg spans a modest 287 nautical miles, making it one of the shorter Bahamas-to-Florida sectors on offer and a natural fit for a light jet or turboprop. A Pilatus PC-12 handles the crossing comfortably from Great Harbour Cay Airport’s single runway, where ramp space is limited but well accustomed to visiting private aircraft serving the marina and the island’s handful of resorts; a Phenom 300 is a sensible step up when the party is larger or luggage runs to golf clubs and dive gear. Because the sector sits mostly over open water, crews typically climb quickly to the mid-20,000s to mid-30,000s, a cruising band that clears any building cumulus over the Berry chain while keeping the flight time to well under an hour. Great Harbour Cay itself remains one of the quieter corners of the Bahamas, prized by owners and charterers precisely because it has avoided the crowds of Nassau or the Abacos, so departures tend to be unhurried affairs. On arrival, St Pete-Clearwater International places passengers minutes from the white sands of Clearwater Beach and the galleries and waterfront dining of downtown St Petersburg, with none of the queues associated with Tampa’s larger commercial terminal. The short block time also means this route works well as the final leg of a longer Bahamas itinerary, bringing a group back to the US mainland in time for dinner rather than committing an entire afternoon to travel. It particularly suits owners with a Berry Islands retreat and a Gulf coast base, or smaller charter parties who want the flexibility of a quick, unscheduled return whenever their island stay concludes.
