Private Jet Capri to Tempe

Capri presents one of the more distinctive entries in the network: the island has no runway of its own, so journeys to Tempe begin with a short transfer via Capri Heliport before continuing on the long transatlantic leg proper, a combined routing that covers some 5,466 nautical miles. For the crossing itself, a Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G550 is the natural fit, cruising near 45,000 feet for most of the roughly ten-and-a-half-hour flying time and carrying enough reserve fuel to handle the kind of routine weather rerouting that an Atlantic crossing can bring. Capri itself needs little introduction: the Blue Grotto, the Faraglioni rock stacks and the cliff-top gardens of Villa San Michele have drawn visitors since Roman times, when emperors kept villas on the island’s steep slopes. On arrival at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, passengers reach Tempe, a city organised around Tempe Town Lake in the Sonoran Desert, where Arizona State University’s downtown campus has become one of the main drivers of local commerce and culture. The lake’s regattas and the dry heat of the surrounding desert stand in sharp contrast to Capri’s whitewashed villas and turquoise coves. Given the combined complexity of an island transfer followed by a long oceanic sector, this route suits well-organised leisure travellers and yacht owners accustomed to multi-leg private itineraries, as well as business travellers for whom the convenience of beginning the journey from Capri itself outweighs the extra planning a more conventional mainland departure would avoid. Most charters from the island are arranged well in advance precisely because of this two-stage logistics, and experienced operators build a sensible buffer into the schedule between the heliport transfer and the long-haul departure.
