Goa International Airport (GOI), widely known as Dabolim airport, is located at Dabolim about 4 km from Vasco da Gama, around 23 km from Margao and about 30 km from Panaji. It operates as a civil enclave within INS Hansa, an Indian Navy air station, with civil facilities run by the Airports Authority of India and air traffic control provided by the Navy. The single runway, 08/26, measures 3,430 metres (11,253 feet), and the airport sits at an elevation of 184 feet (56 metres) at coordinates 15.3808° N, 73.8314° E.
The naval role shapes how private flights use the airport. Military flying training takes place five days a week from 08:30 to 13:00, when civil flights cannot normally operate, and the Navy also imposes night-flight restrictions. Charter traffic therefore tends to favour early mornings and weekends, and parking space in the civil enclave is limited. In return, Dabolim is the closer airport for South Goa’s beaches and resorts. The Jet Collection plans slots around the naval schedule, chooses between Dabolim and Mopa for each trip and arranges the transfer to your villa.
