Islamabad International Airport (ISB) serves Pakistan’s capital and Rawalpindi, located near Fateh Jang about 25 km south-west of Islamabad and roughly the same distance from Saddar in Rawalpindi. It opened in 2018 with two parallel runways, 10R/28L and 10L/28R, each 3,658 metres (12,000 feet) long. The airport sits at an elevation of 1,762 feet (537 metres) at coordinates 33.5491° N, 72.8257° E.
Its two long runways accept every business jet, including ultra-long-range aircraft arriving non-stop from Europe, the Gulf or East Asia. The airport is the arrival point for government ministries, the diplomatic enclave and the Blue Area business strip, as well as for army headquarters in Rawalpindi, reached by motorway. Islamabad also makes a good starting point for onward flights to the northern areas. Visitors are frequently on official or diplomatic business, so timing and security coordination are often as important as the flight itself. Private flights into Pakistan need landing and overflight permissions arranged in advance. The Jet Collection prepares those permissions, selects the aircraft and coordinates handling, immigration and secure ground transport at Islamabad.
