RAF Northolt (NHT) is a Royal Air Force station in South Ruislip, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, about 10 km north of Heathrow. Alongside its military role, it is used for government and private VIP transport to and from London. The airfield has a single grooved asphalt runway, 07/25, measuring 1,683 metres (5,522 feet), and sits at an elevation of 126 feet (38 metres) at coordinates 51.5531° N, 0.4183° W.
Civil business aviation is permitted under strict conditions. Every flight needs prior permission (PPR) and a slot, and civil movements are subject to an annual cap. Military and government flights take priority, so permission can be delayed or withdrawn at short notice. Civil operating hours are limited, particularly at weekends. Airliner-sized business jets may not be accepted, so light to large business jets are the realistic fit. In return, central and west London are very close. The Jet Collection requests permission and slots for each flight and confirms a fallback airport.
