Private Jet Addis Ababa to Yonkers

Addis Ababa and Yonkers are 6,048 nautical miles apart, a distance an ultra-long-range jet such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 can fly nonstop across the Atlantic when conditions allow. Cruising at altitudes up to 51,000 feet for portions of the roughly eleven-hour flight keeps the ride smooth for much of the journey, and private sleeping suites aboard both aircraft make the long crossing considerably easier to absorb than any commercial routing could manage. Departure is from Bole Addis Ababa International Airport, Ethiopia’s principal gateway and one of Africa’s busiest aviation hubs, with private aviation facilities well suited to the country’s growing diplomatic and business traffic. From Ethiopia, the route crosses Africa and the Atlantic before reaching North America and continuing on to Westchester County Airport, the arrival point for Yonkers. On landing, travellers exchange Addis Ababa’s high-altitude highland setting for the Hudson River’s lower, more temperate landscape, with Untermyer Park and Gardens and the redeveloped Yonkers waterfront offering a calm first stop. Manhattan remains a short Metro-North ride to the south. As the headquarters of the African Union and a major diplomatic and aviation hub, Addis Ababa sustains a steady flow of government and NGO-related travel to New York, and this route suits diplomats, development professionals and aid executives with business at the United Nations, for whom a nonstop private crossing avoids the layover through Europe or the Gulf that commercial service would otherwise require. Addis Ababa’s role as host to the African Union’s headquarters and dozens of foreign embassies gives it a diplomatic weight that far exceeds its relatively modest profile in global business circles, and Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive network has made the city one of the continent’s true aviation crossroads.
