Private Jet Aspen to Taipei

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, with its demanding mountain approach, is the starting point for the considerable 6,100 nautical mile journey to Taipei, a sector that firmly requires a Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500, cruising near 51,000 feet across roughly eleven and three-quarter hours in the air. Aspen’s runway length and elevation restrict which aircraft can operate directly, so many charters of this distance position from a nearby field capable of handling a fully fuelled ultra-long-range jet. The journey itself crosses much of North America, the Pacific and East Asia before descending into Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, a considerable undertaking that rewards careful aircraft selection above all else. Aspen’s ski season draws an international clientele, and increasingly that includes travellers with business interests in Taiwan’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing base, alongside those simply extending a mountain holiday with an entirely different kind of city break. Taipei greets arriving guests with the glass tower of Taipei 101 and a street-level culture built around temples, teahouses and night markets. The National Palace Museum, home to one of the world’s finest collections of Chinese imperial art, rewards a dedicated half-day. Those craving a change of pace after Aspen’s slopes might find it at Beitou, where volcanic hot springs offer a different kind of mountain relaxation. Evenings are best spent at Shilin or Raohe night market, sampling oyster omelettes and grilled skewers among the crowds. Given the exceptional length of this crossing, a cabin equipped with a proper sleeping arrangement is not a luxury but a necessity.
