Private Jet Basseterre to Vence

Covering some 3,824 nautical miles, the route from Basseterre in Saint Kitts to Vence sits at the upper end of what a heavy business jet can comfortably manage in a single hop, and aircraft such as the Gulfstream G550 or a Global-series jet are the usual choice for the roughly seven hour fifteen minute crossing. Passengers board at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, where private aviation support is well developed thanks to the island’s long history as a yachting and second-home destination, before the flight climbs to a cruising altitude typically between 43,000 and 45,000 feet for the bulk of the Atlantic crossing. Nice Côte d’Azur receives the aircraft on the French side, putting Vence within a short onward drive, a town whose stone streets and Romanesque cathedral predate the fame it later earned when Matisse chose it as the site for his Chapelle du Rosaire. The hills above the town roll toward Grasse and its perfume houses, while the coast below offers Cannes, Antibes and the principality of Monaco for those extending their stay toward the water. A crossing of this length rewards an aircraft with a genuinely restful cabin, and crews on this sector typically plan catering and lighting around the overnight hours to help passengers adjust more easily on arrival in a different time zone and climate. This route suits owners and families dividing their year between a Kittitian base and the south of France, as well as business travellers for whom a direct sector, however long, remains preferable to the delays and exposure of a scheduled connection through a major hub airport.
