Private Jet Capri to Fontana

Capri’s small cliffside heliport makes for one of the more theatrical departures in private aviation, and the onward journey to Fontana covers close to five thousand six hundred nautical miles, calling for a heavy long-range jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000. Because Capri’s own infrastructure cannot support a heavy jet directly, travellers typically transfer by helicopter to Naples before continuing on the long-range aircraft that will carry them across the Atlantic and much of the North American continent. Once airborne, these types cruise near 43,000 feet, above the congestion of Mediterranean airspace and much of the weather that builds over the ocean crossing, with total flight time from Naples running close to ten hours. Capri itself needs little introduction, its Faraglioni rock formations and the Blue Grotto drawing visitors for well over a century, alongside the boutiques and piazzas of Capri town perched above the harbour. On arrival, Fontana sits within Southern California’s Inland Empire, a region shaped by logistics and distribution activity but bordered by the San Bernardino Mountains, with Auto Club Speedway anchoring its motorsport reputation. This route suits travellers concluding an Amalfi or Capri itinerary who prefer the convenience of a single coordinated transfer and long-range sector back to Southern California over the multiple legs a commercial routing through a major European hub would otherwise involve, arriving with the flexibility of a private schedule after a memorable island departure. The helicopter transfer between Capri and Naples typically adds only a short interval to the overall itinerary, and experienced operators coordinate the timing closely so the long-range jet is fuelled and ready on arrival. For families or larger groups, the extra cabin volume of a heavy jet also allows luggage from an extended Mediterranean stay to travel comfortably alongside the passengers.
