Private Jet Castries to Alexandria

St Lucia’s George F. L. Charles Airport sits right on the edge of Castries harbour, a compact downtown gateway that makes the start of this roughly 5,015-nautical-mile crossing to Alexandria unusually convenient for an island departure. The distance calls for an ultra-long-range jet, and operators typically assign a Gulfstream G650ER or a Bombardier Global 6000, both able to fly the sector nonstop while cruising near 45,000 feet to make the most of prevailing winds across the Atlantic. Castries itself sits beneath the dramatic silhouette of St Lucia’s twin Pitons, volcanic spires that rank among the Caribbean’s most recognisable landmarks, and the island’s lush interior offers a striking contrast to the flat, sunbaked coastline awaiting arrival at Borg El Arab International Airport. Alexandria, the destination, has served as Egypt’s principal Mediterranean port since Alexander the Great founded it more than two thousand years ago, and its layered history remains visible in landmarks such as the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient Pharos lighthouse, and the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina overlooking the sea. Passengers stepping off after roughly nine and a half hours in the air will find a city built for strolling, its Corniche promenade lined with cafes and fishing boats, and its old quarter carrying traces of Greek, Roman and Ottoman rule. Cabin endurance and range remain the priority for this pairing rather than outright speed, and both recommended aircraft offer flat-bed seating and enclosed lavatories suited to a journey of this length. The route best suits owners and executives with interests spanning the eastern Caribbean and the Mediterranean, for whom the value of a single nonstop sector outweighs the time saved by breaking the journey at an intermediate hub.
