Private Jet Eleuthera to Cape Coral

Eleuthera and Cape Coral sit approximately 330 nautical miles apart, a brief Bahamian crossing suited to a turboprop or light jet given the modest length of the runway at North Eleuthera Airport. The flight takes well under an hour once established at cruise altitude, making it a realistic option for a day trip to the island’s famous pink sand beaches at Harbour Island or a longer stay at one of the boutique resorts scattered along its narrow, hundred-mile length. Eleuthera’s laid-back pace and lack of large-scale development have kept it a favourite among repeat visitors who prefer their Bahamas quieter than Nassau or Paradise Island, a distinction locals guard carefully. Cape Coral, on arrival, presents a different but no less water-centred landscape, a mainland Gulf Coast city whose extraordinarily dense canal network gives most neighbourhoods direct access to the sea. A short drive brings visitors to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, celebrated worldwide for shelling, while Fort Myers preserves the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, complete with Thomas Edison’s original laboratory and botanical gardens. The Caloosahatchee River has also built a formidable reputation among sport anglers, particularly those chasing tarpon through the region’s productive backwaters each season, guided by captains who fish these waters daily and know every channel by heart. This route suits weekend travellers, honeymooners drawn to Harbour Island, and second-home owners alike, sparing them the inconvenience of a connection through Nassau for what remains a short hop across the Straits of Florida, and the customs queue such a connection usually adds.
