Private Jet Exumas to Bucharest

The Exumas to Bucharest is one of the longer sectors on the network at roughly 4,910 nautical miles, calling for the sustained range of a Gulfstream G550, cruising at up to 51,000 feet on a flight approaching nine and a half hours. Exuma Airport, a single-runway field serving this string of low-lying islands, is well accustomed to private jet traffic given the Exumas’ status as a favoured Bahamian retreat for owners seeking privacy away from Nassau’s busier airspace. On arrival, Henri Coandă International Airport places passengers a short transfer from central Bucharest, exchanging the Exumas’ famous swimming pigs and shallow turquoise banks for the more formal grandeur of Calea Victoriei and the Romanian Athenaeum. The city’s restored Lipscani quarter offers a genuinely lively evening scene, a fitting contrast to the quiet, low-key pace of the islands left behind. This route is used almost entirely for leisure purposes, connecting a private island escape with a longer European itinerary that often extends into the Balkans or Transylvania. Given the distance, this pairing rewards those prepared to commit to a long but genuinely comfortable crossing, sparing them the multiple connections a commercial routing between the Exumas and Romania would otherwise involve almost without exception. Many owners treat Bucharest as the first stop of a longer European season, continuing north into Transylvania or east toward the Black Sea once the long Atlantic crossing has been completed. The contrast between the two ends of the journey is, more often than not, exactly the point of making it.
