Private Jet Florence to Cavallo

Florence to Cavallo is one of the shortest sectors in this network at just 174 nautical miles, a quick regional flight for a very light jet such as the Citation Mustang or Phenom 100, typically completed in under half an hour and cruising at a moderate altitude well suited to such a brief crossing. Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport sits conveniently close to the historic centre, allowing travellers to spend a full morning among the city’s museums and piazzas before an early-afternoon departure. The destination, Cavallo, could hardly present a more different setting: a granite island within the Lavezzi Nature Reserve in the Strait of Bonifacio, reached by a short helicopter transfer since no runway serves the island directly. Where Florence offers density, art and centuries of accumulated history, Cavallo offers almost nothing but rock, clear water and quiet, with a handful of villas and a single well-regarded restaurant comprising the whole of its visible infrastructure. This contrast is precisely why the pairing works so well for travellers on a Tuscan itinerary looking to close out their trip somewhere with the opposite energy entirely. Given how brief the flight is, many guests treat Cavallo as a weekend extension to a longer Italian stay rather than a separate undertaking, arriving in time for a late lunch and an afternoon on the water. As with all sectors into this island, confirming the onward helicopter connection ahead of arrival is the one piece of planning worth prioritising, since availability during peak summer weeks can be tight even for a journey this short.
