Private Jet Kortrijk to St. Petersburg

Few city pairs on the network cover as much ground as Kortrijk to St. Petersburg, a transatlantic sector of roughly 3,990 nautical miles that demands a heavy or ultra-long-range aircraft such as a Gulfstream G650ER or a Global 6000, flown at altitudes up to 51,000 feet for much of the crossing to take advantage of favourable winds and smoother air above the weather. Kortrijk-Wevelgem Airport, in Belgium’s West Flanders province near the French border, serves a region better known for textiles and its medieval town centre than for long-haul aviation, which makes the ultra-long-range cabin’s non-stop capability especially valuable here. The route runs west across the British Isles and the North Atlantic before making landfall over the eastern United States and turning south towards Florida’s Gulf Coast, a track of roughly seven and three quarter hours that benefits considerably from an aircraft capable of flying it without a technical stop in Newfoundland or the Azores. Kortrijk’s Flemish merchant heritage and its proximity to Lille and Brussels make it a practical departure point for European travellers with business or property interests on Florida’s west coast. St. Petersburg’s waterfront arts district, anchored by the Dali Museum, and its year-round boating climate offer a considerable change of pace from a Belgian winter, and the city’s growing international community has made it an increasingly familiar name among European visitors to Florida. A heavy cabin’s range and comfort matter enormously on a sector this long, giving passengers the space to sleep properly across the ocean crossing before arriving ready for a meeting or a first afternoon on the water. On arrival, guests typically move straight from the tarmac at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport to the marinas and waterfront restaurants a short drive away, a transition that operators say tends to surprise first-time European visitors with how quickly the pace shifts from transatlantic formality to Gulf Coast informality.
