Private Jet Malé to Lake Como

Few routes in the collection cover as much ground as Male to Lake Como, a distance of roughly 4,163 nautical miles that firmly places it in ultra-long-range territory, with the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 both capable of completing the journey in a single hop of around eight hours. Velana International Airport, serving the Maldivian capital and its surrounding atolls, offers dedicated business aviation handling for travellers departing one of the Indian Ocean’s most secluded destinations. Climbing to a cruising altitude in the low 40,000s, the aircraft tracks north-west across the Arabian Sea, the Gulf and the eastern Mediterranean before entering European airspace ahead of its descent into Lombardy, a routing that spans a genuinely remarkable range of terrain and climate. Arrival into Milan Malpensa Airport precedes a road transfer of roughly an hour, delivering travellers from the airport to the lakeside, where the Maldives’ turquoise lagoons and overwater villas give way to Como’s very different landscape of wooded slopes and cypress-lined shorelines. The Global 7500’s exceptionally spacious cabin, with distinct living and sleeping areas, makes the long crossing considerably more manageable, allowing travellers to arrive genuinely rested. Bellagio and Cernobbio both reward an unhurried first evening after such a long journey. This route particularly suits travellers closing out a Maldivian holiday with a contrasting European stay, or those relocating between the two regions for an extended season. Given the distance and the specialist long-range aircraft required, booking well in advance is strongly recommended. Given the sheer duration of this crossing, most operators recommend an overnight departure, allowing passengers to sleep for much of the flight and arrive at the lake in the late morning, ready to begin their stay without losing a full day to travel.
