Private Jet New Orleans to Cavallo

New Orleans to Cavallo is a transatlantic sector of roughly 4,632 nautical miles, comfortably within the range of a heavy business jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000, both of which can fly the crossing non-stop while cruising near 45,000 feet to stay above the bulk of the weather over the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The flight departs Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, with the routing generally tracking east across the ocean before making landfall over the western Mediterranean and descending towards Corsica’s southern coast. Cavallo, the destination, is a private island within the Lavezzi archipelago, separated from Sardinia by the narrow, current-swept Bonifacio Strait, and has no runway of its own; arrival is completed by helicopter, typically routed via Figari-Sud Corse to the island’s private helistrip. Where New Orleans trades on jazz, cuisine and a famously unhurried Southern rhythm, Cavallo offers an entirely different kind of quiet: granite coves, exceptionally clear water and a clientele that has long prized the island’s discretion over the visibility of the wider Riviera and Sardinian coast. For travellers making this crossing, the roughly eight-and-a-half-hour flight is a genuine long-haul undertaking, and the heavy jet’s cabin, with proper rest space and connectivity throughout, makes the transatlantic sector a comfortable one, delivering passengers from Louisiana’s most distinctive city to one of the Mediterranean’s most private islands ready to make the most of it. Many travellers making this particular crossing choose to pair the visit with time in Corsica proper or a run across the strait to Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, using Cavallo as a quiet base from which to explore the wider archipelago at a more leisurely pace than the mainland resorts allow.
