Private Jet Serengeti to Gilbert

The Serengeti to Gilbert route spans approximately 8,143 nautical miles across East Africa, the Atlantic or Mediterranean and North America, one of the longest sectors in the network and one that calls for an ultra-long-range jet such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500, cruising near 51,000 feet for a flight typically routed with a fuel stop given the extreme distance. Departures use Seronera Airstrip, a dirt runway at the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania, where the annual wildebeest migration and resident populations of lion, elephant and giraffe draw safari travellers from around the world, often in coordination with visits to the nearby Ngorongoro Crater. Gilbert, reached after one of the longest journeys in the network, offers a landlocked desert suburb entirely unlike the Serengeti’s open savannah. The Heritage District’s restaurants and craft breweries occupy the town’s oldest buildings, the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch offers a reclaimed wetland walk of its own, considerably smaller in scale, and SanTan Village rounds out the shopping and dining scene. Safari operators and well-travelled owners splitting time between East African wildlife tourism and an Arizona base make occasional use of this exceptionally long route, for whom a private aircraft remains far preferable to the multiple commercial connections that a routing between these two remote regions would otherwise involve. Conservation organisations working across both the Serengeti ecosystem and the deserts of the American Southwest occasionally use this route for staff exchanges and joint research initiatives. Few routes anywhere in the network demand quite this level of planning and aircraft capability.
