Private Jet Serengeti to Riverside

The Serengeti to Riverside route spans an estimated 8,325 nautical miles, connecting one of East Africa’s most remote airstrips to Southern California’s Inland Empire. Departing Seronera Airstrip, a field built for safari traffic rather than long-haul departures, typically requires a preliminary positioning leg to a larger East African hub before an executive airliner, such as a Boeing Business Jet, can take on the fuel and range needed for the transoceanic crossing that follows; cruise altitudes near 43,000 feet and a cabin fitted for genuine long-haul comfort make the many hours aloft considerably more bearable. Arrival in Riverside could scarcely offer a greater contrast to the open grasslands of the Serengeti. The city’s downtown, centred on the Mission Inn, reflects a century and a half of California history rooted in citrus agriculture, while the University of California, Riverside adds a research and cultural institution of its own. Riverside Municipal Airport handles arrivals with the kind of unhurried efficiency that suits travellers coming off a journey of this length, allowing ground transport to begin almost immediately rather than waiting behind the queues typical of larger California airports. This pairing suits safari operators and conservation professionals with ties to Southern California, travellers concluding an East African expedition with a return to an Inland Empire home, and anyone for whom the logistics of connecting through multiple continents by commercial carrier make private charter, despite the distance, the only genuinely practical option. Given the remoteness of the departure point, careful advance planning around ground handling, permits and the positioning leg out of East Africa is essential to keeping the overall journey on schedule, and experienced operators typically begin that coordination weeks ahead of the planned departure date.
