Private Jet Spokane to Fontana

Spokane International Airport, gateway to the Inland Northwest and site of the 1974 World’s Fair that transformed the city’s downtown riverfront, sends flights 817 nautical miles south to Fontana. A very light jet or turboprop such as the Pilatus PC-12 covers this distance comfortably in a single hop, keeping operating costs modest for what is essentially a regional West Coast repositioning. Spokane’s Riverfront Park, built on the old Expo ’74 grounds around the Spokane River’s falls, remains the centrepiece of a city that has grown into the commercial hub for a large swath of eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana. Fontana, on arrival, offers a study in contrasts: where Spokane built its identity around a river and a world’s fair, Fontana rebuilt itself around logistics after the closure of the Kaiser Steel plant that once employed thousands during the Second World War. Warehouses and distribution centres now line the valley floor beneath the San Bernardino Mountains, serving as a critical node in Southern California’s retail supply chain. Given the moderate distance, this route suits business travellers connected to the Inland Northwest’s agricultural and mining economy visiting counterparts in Southern California’s logistics sector, and it works equally well as a same-day trip or a short overnight stay depending on the nature of the business at hand. Gonzaga University’s basketball programme has given Spokane a national profile well beyond its size, and the surrounding lakes and forests draw a steady stream of outdoor recreation visitors throughout the summer months, adding a leisure dimension to a city otherwise known for its role as a regional commercial and agricultural centre.
