Private Jet St Moritz to Anchorage

St Moritz shares its departure point with several other Engadin resorts, and this 4,267 nautical mile route to Anchorage begins at Engadin Airport, one of the highest commercial airfields in Europe, before the long crossing to Southcentral Alaska. An ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500 is the natural choice for a sector of this length, offering the non-stop range and a cruise altitude near 45,000 feet needed to clear the North Atlantic, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic in a single hop. St Moritz’s glamour, built on winter sports and grand hotels overlooking a frozen lake, gives way on arrival to Anchorage’s rougher-edged charm: Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport sits beneath the Chugach Mountains, with Cook Inlet’s tidal flats stretching out to the west in place of the Engadin valley’s own dramatic peaks. Anchorage serves as Alaska’s principal commercial and transport hub, and travellers typically press on from here, whether by the Alaska Railroad north to Denali National Park or by floatplane from Lake Hood into the glaciers of Prince William Sound. Given the scale of the journey, most itineraries run to a week or more, allowing time for salmon fishing on the Kenai Peninsula, bear viewing along the coast, and glacier touring by air or boat. St Moritz’s international set, already accustomed to long-haul travel between winter and summer bases, often treats Alaska as a natural addition to a well-travelled itinerary, drawn by the scale of the wilderness rather than any particular luxury. The Alaskan summer’s extended daylight is the busiest season for such trips, while a winter charter brings the considerable compensation of the aurora borealis over Cook Inlet.
