Private Jet St Moritz to Spokane

Few charter itineraries pair such contrasting mountain worlds as St Moritz and Spokane, separated by roughly 4,519 nautical miles and around eight and three-quarter hours of flying. A Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 handles the sector with room to spare, carrying enough fuel reserve for the great-circle routing north over Greenland and Canada while keeping four-zone cabin temperatures and low pressurisation comfortable for a full planeload. Cruising in the mid-forties of thousands of feet allows the crew to ride above most jet-stream turbulence on the return leg, which tends to be the faster of the two. Departing from Engadin Airport, one of Europe’s highest commercial aerodromes at nearly 5,600 feet, offers a dramatic start to the journey, with the peaks above the Upper Engadin valley visible on climb-out long after the glacier-fed lakes of St Moritz itself have disappeared from view. The resort’s polo on snow and the White Turf horse races held on the frozen lake each winter give it a character quite unlike anywhere else in the Alps. Spokane, by contrast, trades altitude for open river valleys: downtown sits astride the Spokane River and its tumbling falls, with Riverfront Park tracing the site of the 1974 World’s Fair and Gonzaga University anchoring a compact, walkable centre. The pairing suits winter-sports enthusiasts splitting a season between the Engadin’s slopes and the Selkirk and Cascade ranges within reach of Spokane, as well as business travellers whose interests span Swiss private banking and the Pacific Northwest’s technology and agricultural sectors. Direct access at both ends, away from larger hub congestion, keeps ground time to a minimum on what is already a long day’s travel.
