Private Jet Tortola to Virginia Beach

Travellers moving between Tortola and Virginia Beach cover around 1,260 nautical miles, a sector comfortably handled by a light jet or a well-equipped turboprop such as the Pilatus PC-12, depending on the number travelling and their luggage. Departing Terrance B. Lettsome Airport in the British Virgin Islands, the flight climbs over the Anegada Passage before settling onto a northbound track that eventually crosses the Carolinas on approach to the Mid-Atlantic coast. Cruise altitudes in the low-to-mid forties keep the ride smooth above the trade-wind cloud that typically hangs over the BVI in the mornings. Arrival at Virginia Beach swaps the calm, protected anchorages of the BVI for open Atlantic surf and a three-mile boardwalk that ranks among the longest uninterrupted pleasure beaches in the United States. First Landing State Park sits just inland, preserving cypress wetlands and maritime forest that predate the modern resort strip, while Cape Henry Lighthouse recalls the 1607 landing of the first English colonists in Virginia. The presence of Naval Station Oceana lends the coastline a working, military character absent from the sailing culture of the BVI. The pairing suits sailing and yacht-charter guests based in the BVI who need to reach the Mid-Atlantic without a connection through Miami or New York, as well as second-home owners moving between the islands and Virginia’s coast. A light jet cabin offers enough room for a small group and their gear, while the shorter sector length means the whole journey, door to door, can be completed well within a single day. Owners with property on both the BVI and Mid-Atlantic coast often use this route to move between the two without the added time of a Miami or San Juan connection.
