Private Jet Verbier to Anchorage

Verbier’s private aviation traffic typically routes through Sion Airport in the Rhone valley, the departure point for this 4,275 nautical mile sector to Anchorage, a crossing that calls for an ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500, both able to operate the route non-stop while cruising near 45,000 feet across the North Atlantic, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic. Verbier’s reputation rests on its off-piste skiing and panoramic views over the Val de Bagnes, a world away from the flat tidal expanse of Cook Inlet that greets arriving passengers at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, with the Chugach Mountains rising behind the runway in place of the Combins massif. Anchorage functions as Alaska’s principal transport and commercial hub, and travellers typically continue onward from here, whether by the Alaska Railroad to Denali National Park or by floatplane from Lake Hood to the tidewater glaciers of Prince William Sound. Given the considerable distance involved, most itineraries on this route extend to a week or longer, allowing time for salmon fishing on the Kenai Peninsula, bear viewing along the coast, and glacier flightseeing before the return journey. Verbier’s international clientele, drawn from finance, industry and the wider European aristocracy, occasionally extends its travels to Alaska for exactly this kind of wilderness expedition, treating the state as a summer counterpart to their winter base in the Alps. The Alaskan summer’s near round-the-clock daylight suits these plans particularly well, offering long hours on the water or the trail, while a winter departure brings its own reward in the form of the aurora borealis over Cook Inlet, visible on clear nights away from the city’s modest glow.
