Private Jet Zagreb to Vancouver

Zagreb’s Upper Town, with its colourfully tiled roof of St Mark’s Church and its warren of baroque courtyards, sits at one end of a 4,901 nautical mile sector that concludes on the banks of the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington. It is a considerable distance, and one best flown aboard a Gulfstream G550, an aircraft whose long-serving reputation for reliability on transatlantic and transcontinental sectors makes it a favourite among operators working this corridor, with cruise altitudes up to 45,000 feet keeping it comfortably above most weather systems. Departures are handled from Franjo Tudman Airport, Zagreb’s modern gateway just south-east of the city, where private terminal facilities allow for a genuinely unhurried start to the journey. At the other end of the routing, passengers descend into Pearson Field, one of the oldest continuously operating airfields in the country and a short distance from downtown Portland, Oregon, celebrated for its independent culture and its position at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. The Cascade Range, with Mount Hood rising to the east, frames the region in a manner not unlike the way Medvednica frames Zagreb itself, giving both cities an unexpectedly similar relationship with the hills that surround them. Zagreb’s Austro-Hungarian architecture and its cafe-lined Tkalciceva street offer a European counterpoint to the timber-framed character of the Pacific Northwest. This pairing suits travellers whose interests bridge Croatia’s growing business and cultural profile with the entrepreneurial energy of the American Northwest, and equally those seeking a considered, single-sector journey between two capitals defined as much by their rivers and hills as by their history.
