Private Jet Mykonos to Bodrum

The crossing from Mykonos to Bodrum covers around 104 nautical miles, carrying travellers from the glamour of the Cyclades to the Turquoise Coast of south-western Turkey. A very light or light jet is ideally matched to so short a sector, with the Embraer Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 both offering nimble performance and a refined cabin for the brief passage over the Aegean. Given the short distance the aircraft spends only a little time at its cruising height, yet a jet of this class climbs efficiently to around 39,000 feet and completes the hop in a matter of minutes, sparing travellers a long and roundabout journey by sea and land. Departures are handled from Mykonos International Airport, where guests can transfer smoothly from island villa or harbour to the aircraft without the delays of the seasonal crowds. Bodrum, the destination, occupies the site of ancient Halicarnassus and is watched over by the imposing Castle of St Peter built by the Knights Hospitaller. The town blends whitewashed houses and bougainvillaea-draped lanes with one of the liveliest marina scenes in the eastern Mediterranean, drawing yacht owners and holidaymakers to its bays throughout the summer season. This route suits travellers island-hopping between the finest destinations of the Aegean, yacht guests joining a vessel on the Turkish coast, and those seeking to combine Greek and Turkish itineraries in a single trip. A ferry crossing would consume much of a day, whereas a private flight links the two in moments, leaving passengers free to make the most of both shores on a schedule of their own devising.
