Private Jet Castries to Gilbert

Castries, the capital of St Lucia, lies approximately 2,999 nautical miles from Gilbert, a sector well suited to a super mid-size or heavy business jet given the distance involved. Aircraft such as the Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G550 cover the route efficiently, typically taking around five hours, cruising in the low-to-mid forties across the Caribbean and Mexico toward the Arizona desert. Departures use George F.L. Charles Airport, a short hop from the city centre and considerably more convenient for reaching Castries itself than the island’s larger international airport in the south. Arrival is into Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, a dedicated general aviation hub east of Phoenix favoured by operators for fast turnarounds and its distance from the congestion of the city’s larger commercial field. Gilbert has been transformed since the 1990s from farmland into one of Arizona’s most desirable suburbs, its neighbourhoods anchored by strong schools and its downtown rebuilt from converted agricultural buildings, all set against the Sonoran Desert. St Lucia, by contrast, is dominated by the twin volcanic peaks of the Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising dramatically from the sea along the island’s southwestern coast, quite different from anything the Arizona desert offers. This sector particularly suits leisure travellers drawn to St Lucia’s dramatic scenery and resort culture, along with executives connecting the island’s tourism industry with partners in the American Southwest. Marigot Bay, a short drive south of the capital, remains one of the most photographed natural harbours anywhere in the Caribbean. Banana cultivation, once the backbone of the St Lucian economy, has given way increasingly to tourism as the island’s primary source of income.
