AlUla, in north-west Saudi Arabia, is a desert valley of sandstone canyons and oases that holds Hegra, the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, with more than 100 monumental Nabataean tombs carved into the rock. The mirrored concert hall of Maraya, desert resorts and seasonal festivals have made it one of the region’s most distinctive destinations. AlUla International Airport is about 25 km from the town, so guests can be in the canyons shortly after landing. Private flights connect AlUla directly with Riyadh, Jeddah, the Red Sea resorts, Dubai and Europe.
