Private Jet Corsica to Krasnoyarsk

Corsica to Krasnoyarsk runs to approximately 3,198 nautical miles, a distance at the outer edge of super-midsize capability and a comfortable one for a heavy jet. A Gulfstream G280 will fly the sector nonstop with a small party and modest baggage, while a Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G550 provides the cabin volume, galley and range margin that a six hour eastbound flight rewards, particularly in winter when the headwind component across the Russian plain can be considerable. Both categories cruise between 41,000 and 45,000 feet, above the Mediterranean weather and clear of the busier European airways for most of the routing. Departures are handled at Calvi-Sainte-Catherine, a coastal field on the northwest of the island whose runway suits aircraft of this class and whose approach over the Gulf of Calvi is among the more agreeable in the Mediterranean. The routing turns northeast over the Ligurian Sea and the Alps before the long run east across central Europe and the Urals. Arrival is at Yemelyanovo International Airport, the gateway to Krasnoyarsk. The city stands on the Yenisei at the heart of Siberia, administrative capital of Krasnoyarsk Krai and a centre for aluminium, nickel and timber. Its river remains ice-free below the hydroelectric dam upstream throughout the winter, and the forested pillars of the Stolby nature reserve rise immediately behind the southern districts. Krasnoyarsk keeps time seven hours ahead of Greenwich. This route suits summer residents of the island with Siberian business interests, and private travellers who would rather make the journey in a single leg than reposition to a mainland hub and connect from there.
