Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO), formerly known as Punta Raisi Airport, is located at Cinisi on the north coast of Sicily, about 35 km west-north-west of Palermo. It has two asphalt runways: 07/25, measuring 3,326 metres (10,912 feet), and 02/20, measuring 2,074 metres (6,804 feet). The airport sits at an elevation of 65 feet (20 metres) at coordinates 38.1760° N, 13.0910° E.
Named after the anti-mafia judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, the airport is the main gateway to western Sicily. Its long main runway accepts every size of aircraft, from light jets to long-range business jets and VIP airliners, and seasonal transatlantic services in summer show how far its reach now extends. Palermo city centre is around 40 minutes by road, the beach suburb of Mondello a little less, and Cefalù, San Vito Lo Capo, Trapani and the ferry ports for the Egadi and Aeolian Islands are within easy reach. The airport is open to traffic throughout the year, making it a reliable base outside the summer season too. The Jet Collection arranges flights into Palermo with handling and onward transfers to the city, your villa or a yacht charter base.
