Genoa is Italy’s largest commercial port and the working capital of the Ligurian coast. Shipping lines, freight forwarders, marine insurers and the shipyards of the Sestri Ponente waterfront make it a natural stop for maritime executives, while defence electronics, power engineering and the research campus of the Italian Institute of Technology bring a steady flow of industrial and scientific visitors. Every September the Genoa International Boat Show draws builders, brokers and owners to the Fiera waterfront. Between meetings, the city rewards time on foot: the Palazzi dei Rolli on Via Garibaldi, the medieval lanes of the centro storico and the restored Porto Antico. Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure lie about 35 km to the east, and the Cinque Terre a little further.
Flying privately places you on the edge of the city rather than hours away by road from Milan or Nice. Private jets use Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport (GOA), built on reclaimed land about 6 km west of the centre, so a car can have you in a harbour-front meeting or on the coast road to Portofino shortly after landing. Typical flight times are around 1 hour from Geneva or Zurich, around 1 hour 30 minutes from Paris and around 2 hours from London. The Jet Collection selects an aircraft suited to the runway and the size of your party, arranges handling at Genoa and books the car or helicopter for the final stretch along the Riviera.
