Gothenburg is Sweden’s industrial capital and home to the largest port in the Nordic region. Volvo Cars and the Volvo Group have their headquarters here, alongside SKF, a large automotive supplier base, and a fast-growing cluster in electric vehicles and batteries. AstraZeneca runs a major research site in neighbouring Mölndal, and Chalmers University of Technology connects the region’s companies to research and talent. The Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre hosts trade fairs and conferences through the year. The city is relaxed and easy to enjoy: the canals and the Haga quarter, seafood from Feskekôrka, the Liseberg amusement park and an archipelago of car-free islands a short ferry ride from the centre.
Flying privately saves a connection through Stockholm or Copenhagen. Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) lies about 20 km east-south-east of the city, roughly 25 km by road, with a single long runway that accepts long-range jets. The airport also offers a VIP service with its own security check and a car to the aircraft. The drive to Volvo’s Torslanda site or the city centre takes about 25 to 30 minutes. Typical flight times are around 2 hours from London, about 55 minutes from Stockholm and around 45 minutes from Copenhagen. The Jet Collection can bring a team in for a plant visit and home the same day, with handling and ground transport arranged around the meeting.
