Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and one of the most active financial technology centres in the European Union. The central bank’s licensing regime has attracted electronic money institutions and payment companies from across Europe, and global firms run service, software and finance centres in the city. Lithuania is also strong in lasers and life sciences, and Vilnius hosts government, NATO and diplomatic meetings, including the 2023 NATO summit. The business district of Konstitucijos prospektas, across the river from the old town, holds most of the new offices. For leisure, the baroque old town is listed by UNESCO, Gediminas Tower overlooks the city, and Užupis offers galleries and riverside cafés. Trakai Island Castle, set on a lake about 28 km to the west, makes an easy half-day trip.
A private flight avoids connecting through Warsaw, Riga or Frankfurt and lets you fly in and out the same day. Private jets use Vilnius International Airport (VNO), about 6 km south of the city centre, so a car reaches the business district in around 20 minutes. Typical flight times are around 1 hour from Warsaw, around 1 hour 45 minutes from Berlin and around 2 hours 45 minutes from London. The Jet Collection arranges the aircraft, handling in Vilnius and ground transport, and can add an onward leg to Riga or Tallinn for a Baltic roadshow.
