Private Jet Alexandria to Tunis

Alexandria to Tunis covers around 1,043 nautical miles along the North African coast, a sector well suited to light and mid-size jets, with the Citation CJ4 or Phenom 300 handling smaller groups efficiently and a Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G280 adding room where a larger party or additional luggage is involved. The flight typically takes about two hours, cruising well above 40,000 feet for a smooth crossing along the Mediterranean’s southern shore. Departures leave from Borg El Arab International Airport, west of Alexandria and away from the busier approach paths into Cairo, giving a straightforward start to the journey. Arrival is at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, which sits remarkably close to the city centre and to the ruins of ancient Carthage itself, once Rome’s great rival for control of the Mediterranean. Tunis rewards a short stay well: the whitewashed, blue-shuttered village of Sidi Bou Said overlooks the Gulf of Tunis from its hilltop, the Bardo Museum holds one of the finest Roman mosaic collections anywhere in the world, and the Medina’s covered souks still trade much as they have for centuries. Between two of North Africa’s most historically significant coastal cities, this route traces a stretch of the Mediterranean that has been contested and traded across for millennia, from Phoenician and Roman times through to the present. It suits travellers with interests spanning Egyptian and Tunisian business or heritage, offering a quick, direct alternative to the longer connections through European hubs that this short regional hop would otherwise require. Beyond the ruins, Tunis offers a genuinely liveable coastal capital, with the leafy suburb of La Marsa and the TGM light railway linking the city centre to a string of beaches along the Gulf of Tunis.
