Private Jet Almaty to Greenwich

Almaty to Greenwich spans 5,510 nautical miles, generally flown by an Ultra-Long Range Jet on a routing across Russia and the Arctic, cruising at altitudes up to 45,000 feet for a journey of around ten and a half hours that takes advantage of a considerably shorter great-circle path than an Atlantic crossing further south would offer. Almaty International Airport serves Kazakhstan’s largest city and former capital, set dramatically against the backdrop of the Tian Shan mountains and known for its tree-lined boulevards, Soviet-era architecture and increasingly cosmopolitan restaurant scene. The long crossing takes passengers over vast stretches of Siberia and the Arctic before Connecticut’s wooded coastline finally appears on the approach to Westchester County Airport. Greenwich’s compact, historic centre offers a considerable change of pace from Almaty’s sprawling, mountain-framed cityscape, one of Central Asia’s most economically significant urban centres. This route serves business travellers with interests in Kazakhstan’s oil, gas and mining sectors, which have driven substantial growth in private aviation demand out of Almaty over the past decade. Given the considerable distance and remote routing involved, this sector requires careful advance planning, and clients should expect their operator to discuss aircraft suitability, crew rotation and contingency airports well before any proposed travel date. The Medeu ice rink and Shymbulak ski resort, both a short drive into the surrounding mountains, give the city a year-round outdoor recreation culture unusual among Central Asian capitals. Kok-Tobe hill, reached by cable car from the city centre, offers panoramic views over Almaty and the surrounding mountains and remains a popular stop for visitors with a few hours to spare.
