Private Jet Amman to Tempe

Queen Alia International Airport serves Amman, a hillside capital built across seven ancient hills and home to the Citadel’s Roman ruins, as well as the customary gateway for travellers continuing on to the rose-red city of Petra further south. The sector to Tempe runs approximately 6,483 nautical miles, a distance suited to an ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 6000, cruising above 45,000 feet for a crossing that typically runs close to eleven and a half hours. The route crosses the eastern Mediterranean and the North Atlantic before tracking over the United States and descending into the Arizona desert, trading Amman’s limestone hillsides for Tempe’s saguaro-studded foothills and the university energy surrounding Arizona State University. Diplomats, archaeologists and a growing number of business travellers connecting Jordan’s tourism and logistics sectors with American markets make up much of the demand on this pairing. A direct charter avoids the connection through a major European or Gulf hub that commercial scheduling between Amman and Phoenix would typically require, folding what might otherwise be a day and a half of travel into a single continuous sector. Cabin pressurisation held near the equivalent of 6,000 feet, standard on newer long-range aircraft, noticeably eases the fatigue of a crossing this length. Arrival in Arizona often marks the start of a longer stay, with Scottsdale’s resorts and the red rock trails around Sedona offering their own, very different, kind of ancient desert landscape. A stop in Petra or the Dead Sea before departure is a popular way for travellers to round out the Jordanian leg of their trip.
