Private Jet Augusta to Akron

Augusta Regional Airport sees its single busiest week of the year each April, when the Masters draws private aircraft from across the country, but the 461-nautical-mile run to Akron is flown steadily throughout the rest of the calendar by business travellers linking the Central Savannah River Area with Ohio’s industrial north-east. For a sector of this length a light jet earns its keep, with the Phenom 300 covering the distance in roughly ninety minutes while cruising near 43,000 feet, clear of the humid, thunderstorm-prone air that frequently builds over Georgia in the warmer months. A Citation CJ4 offers similar performance with a touch more cabin volume for travellers who prefer to spread out paperwork en route, and either aircraft can comfortably use the shorter regional runways found at both ends of this sector. At the Ohio end, Akron-Canton Airport sits close to the University of Akron and to Hale Farm & Village’s recreated nineteenth-century settlement, a world away from Augusta’s antebellum streetscape along the Savannah River. Beyond golf, Augusta has built a significant presence in cybersecurity and advanced manufacturing around Fort Eisenhower, giving the route a commercial logic that outlasts the Masters crowds by many months of the year. Business travellers connecting these two manufacturing and technology hubs, or golf enthusiasts simply extending a Georgia trip northward before the spring tournament season, find this short sector a dependable and unhurried way to cover the distance without routing through the queues at Atlanta or Charlotte. The whole journey, gate to gate, rarely occupies much more than the length of a long lunch.
