Private Jet Barrie to Lucerne

Barrie and Lucerne lie about 3,493 nautical miles apart, a transatlantic sector that calls for a heavy jet with genuine range, and a Gulfstream G550 covers the distance nonstop with fuel to spare, cruising near 45,000 feet for much of the crossing to ride above the worst of the North Atlantic’s weather. The journey begins at Barrie-Orillia Airport in Ontario’s cottage country, a region of lakes and pine forest north of Toronto that has become a base for a number of principals who prefer a quieter departure point to the congestion of Pearson. The aircraft touches down at Buochs Airport on Lake Lucerne, delivering passengers within a short transfer of a city built around water and mountains rather than boulevards. The fourteenth-century Chapel Bridge, still hung with its original painted panels, crosses the Reuss just steps from the old town’s guild houses, while the Lion Monument, carved directly into a rock face to commemorate Swiss Guards lost in the French Revolution, draws visitors up a quiet lane just beyond the ramparts. For those staying longer, a cogwheel train up Mount Pilatus offers one of the more dramatic mountain ascents in Europe. The G550’s cabin, with its established reputation for a smooth ride and long-haul comfort, suits families or business parties undertaking the full transatlantic sector in one hop, and its baggage capacity comfortably absorbs luggage for an extended Alpine stay. This route serves Ontario-based principals with Swiss banking, property or family connections who value a direct, private alternative to routing through Toronto and a European hub before a final onward leg to Lucerne.
