Private Jet Bloomington to Alexandria

The route from Bloomington to Alexandria measures roughly 5,301 nautical miles, a distance well matched to the Bombardier Global 6000, an aircraft known for combining strong range with efficient cruise performance on long transatlantic and trans-Mediterranean sectors such as this one. Cruising near 45,000 feet for much of the flight keeps the aircraft clear of most weather along the great-circle track. Departures use Central Illinois Regional Airport, a well-equipped field serving the Bloomington-Normal area with efficient private aviation handling. Alexandria rewards this long journey with a coastal city whose history stretches back to its founding by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. Successive rulers, Ptolemaic, Roman and Ottoman, each left their mark, visible today in sites such as Pompey’s Pillar and the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. The modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, built as a tribute to the city’s legendary ancient library, anchors the contemporary waterfront, while the Corniche promenade remains the best vantage point for watching the Mediterranean light change through the day. With no realistic scheduled alternative linking central Illinois directly to Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, this route suits business travellers with agricultural or academic ties to the region, along with those planning an extended cultural visit to Alexandria’s ancient sites. The Global 6000’s range generally supports a direct crossing, subject to prevailing winds and any operational requirement for a technical stop along the way. A short visit to the Montaza Palace gardens, laid out for Egyptian royalty in the early twentieth century, offers a quieter escape from the busier central districts. The catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, carved several storeys into the rock, remain one of the most striking blends of Egyptian and classical funerary art in the country.
