Private Jet Bodrum to Alexandria

Bodrum’s Milas-Bodrum Airport, serving one of Turkey’s most fashionable Aegean resort towns, is the departure point for a short private hop to Alexandria covering just 374 nautical miles, a distance well within reach of very light jets. The Phenom 100 or Citation CJ4 are natural fits for this sector, offering quick turnaround times, efficient fuel burn and a cabin comfortable enough for a couple of hours in the air, cruising typically in the mid-thirties to low forties of thousands of feet given the relatively short stage length involved. Departing Bodrum, with its whitewashed hillside villas and busy marina, travellers leave behind Turkey’s Aegean coast and cross a narrow stretch of the eastern Mediterranean before descending into Egypt. Arrival at Borg El Arab International Airport places guests close to Alexandria, a city whose maritime importance stretches back over two millennia as Egypt’s principal seaport. The Mediterranean corniche, lined with cafés and colonial-era buildings, offers an immediate sense of the city’s cosmopolitan character, shaped by generations of Greek, Italian and Levantine communities who once called it home. History-minded travellers will find the Graeco-Roman Museum and the nearby El Alamein battlefields, sobering reminders of the Second World War’s North African campaign, well worth the short additional journey from the airport. This route suits travellers island- and coast-hopping around the eastern Mediterranean who wish to add a quick but rewarding detour to Egypt without committing to a long-haul sector, pairing Bodrum’s relaxed resort atmosphere with Alexandria’s older, more textured history. Given the modest flight time, this sector works particularly well as part of a broader regional tour rather than a standalone journey, and same-day arrival allows for an afternoon exploring the city before evening plans.
