Private Jet Bora Bora to Canyon Point

Bora Bora to Canyon Point covers around 3,806 nautical miles across the central Pacific and into the American Southwest, a distance well matched to a heavy business jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000. Both aircraft offer the range to complete the sector without an intermediate stop under typical conditions, cruising at altitudes up to around 45,000 feet where thinner air and calmer conditions translate into a noticeably smoother ride than lower-altitude alternatives. Departure is from Fa’a’ā International Airport, French Polynesia’s main international gateway, where private aviation handling is well established given the island’s status as a long-haul luxury destination in its own right. Arrival brings a striking change of scenery. Page Municipal Airport sits at the edge of Lake Powell, whose 186-mile length and countless side canyons make it one of the more unusual reservoirs in the country, formed by the damming of Glen Canyon in the 1960s. Antelope Canyon lies just to the south, its narrow, glowing corridors a world away from Bora Bora’s lagoon, and the Vermilion Cliffs stretch north toward Utah, offering hiking and photography opportunities for those extending their stay. Given that both ends of the route are defined by water and dramatic natural scenery, albeit of entirely different character, this sector suits travellers building an itinerary around landscape rather than cities, moving from an overwater bungalow in French Polynesia to a houseboat on Lake Powell with the ease that only private charter affords. The Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, with its striped Coyote Buttes rock formations, adds a further reason to extend a stay in the area beyond the standard lake and canyon circuit.
