Private Jet Burbank to Brownsville

Hollywood Burbank Airport sits closer to the entertainment studios of the San Fernando Valley than either of Los Angeles’s larger airports, and the 1,191-nautical-mile flight from Burbank to Brownsville reflects the kind of discreet, convenient charter demand that keeps this smaller field busy. A Citation CJ4 suits the distance comfortably, its light-jet cabin accommodating up to eight passengers for a flight that typically runs just under two and a half hours, with enough range to cover the leg nonstop in nearly any season. Cruising near 45,000 feet, the CJ4 stays above most of the weather that forms over the desert Southwest, allowing a smoother ride than the lower cruise altitudes used by older business jet designs. From Burbank, the route tracks southeast across Arizona and the Southwest before descending into Brownsville International Airport at the southernmost point of Texas, close to the Rio Grande and the international bridge into Matamoros, Mexico. Entertainment-industry travellers valuing the privacy that Burbank’s smaller terminal affords make up a notable share of demand on this route, often connecting production or distribution interests in South Texas and northern Mexico with the studios back home. Leisure travellers, meanwhile, are drawn by the Gulf beaches of South Padre Island and the markedly warmer winter climate on offer at the Texas end of the flight. For both groups, the appeal of flying privately from Burbank rather than through one of the larger Los Angeles airports lies in sidestepping the congestion and exposure of a major hub, while the direct routing to Brownsville avoids the connection through Houston or Dallas that a commercial itinerary would otherwise require, saving a considerable chunk of the travelling day.
