Private Jet Cape Town to Middleburg

The route between Cape Town and Leesburg stretches some 6,900 nautical miles, an exceptional sector carrying travellers from the southern tip of Africa across the width of the Atlantic to the countryside of northern Virginia near Washington. A journey of this magnitude calls for the very largest cabins, with an executive airliner or the longest-legged business jets such as the Bombardier Global 7500 best suited to the crossing, and even then a sector of this length demands careful planning of routing and reserves. These aircraft cruise at altitudes approaching 51,000 feet, rising above the weather of the tropics and the ocean and holding a steady ride throughout. Cabins with full berths, showers and separate rest and dining areas allow passengers to sleep through much of the long passage north-west. Departures are handled from Cape Town International Airport, gateway to one of the world’s most beautiful cities, set beneath Table Mountain between two oceans. On arrival at Leesburg Executive Airport, guests are in the rolling hunt country of Loudoun County, close to the wineries of northern Virginia and within convenient reach of Washington and its institutions. The route serves a discerning few, whether drawn across the Atlantic for business, diplomacy or family between southern Africa and the American capital region. The range and comfort of an executive airliner make even so vast a crossing manageable, delivering passengers rested despite the many hours aloft. For travellers linking Cape Town with the Washington area, the sector represents private aviation at the very edge of its reach.
