Private Jet Castries to Akron

Castries, St Lucia’s capital, lies around 1,955 nautical miles from Akron, a distance well suited to a super mid-size jet such as the Bombardier Challenger 350, or a heavy jet like the Gulfstream G550 for those wanting additional cabin space on the slightly longer crossing. Castries sits beneath the Pitons, the twin volcanic spires that have become one of the most recognisable silhouettes in the Caribbean, and George F. L. Charles Airport, close to the city centre, serves as a convenient alternative to the island’s larger international airport further south. On arrival, travellers land at Akron-Canton Airport, close to a city whose own landscape is shaped by industry rather than volcanic peaks. Goodyear, Firestone, and BF Goodrich all operated major facilities in Akron, and the University of Akron’s polymer science department continues that research tradition today. Those with time to spend can tour Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens or spend an afternoon at Lock 3 Park downtown. This pairing suits leisure travellers returning from a St Lucia resort stay as readily as business visitors tied to the island’s tourism and agricultural sectors, offering a direct sector that avoids the connections through San Juan or Miami that a commercial itinerary from this part of the Caribbean would typically require. St Lucia’s rainforest interior and the sulphur springs near Soufriere also draw a steady stream of eco-tourism visitors, many of whom combine a resort stay with a day trip inland before the flight home, appreciating a departure schedule that a scheduled airline connection would make considerably harder to arrange.
