Private Jet Cavallo to Akron

Few sectors in the network span as dramatic a contrast as the crossing from the French Mediterranean island of Cavallo to Akron, Ohio, a transatlantic leg of roughly 3,894 nautical miles that trades the granite coves of the Lavezzi archipelago for the industrial heartland of the American Midwest. A heavy jet such as a Gulfstream G550 or Dassault Falcon 7X is built precisely for distances like this, carrying enough fuel to make the crossing non-stop while cruising at altitudes above 45,000 feet that keep the aircraft clear of the busiest North Atlantic traffic corridors. Departures lift from the Cavallo Helistrip, serving the exclusive hotel and private estates on the island long favoured by yacht owners cruising the waters between Corsica and Sardinia. After roughly seven and a half hours airborne and a crossing of six time zones, arrival into Akron-Canton Airport brings passengers to Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, the 65-room Tudor Revival mansion built for Goodyear founder F.A. Seiberling, whose manicured grounds offer an unexpected echo of European estate architecture in the Ohio countryside. This route suits owners and principals who divide their time between Mediterranean summers and business interests in the American industrial corridor, as well as those extending a European yachting season with a direct onward connection rather than routing through a major commercial hub. The heavy jet category’s long legs and generous cabin make what would otherwise be a gruelling multi-stop itinerary into a single overnight crossing, landing rested rather than depleted after a journey most travellers would otherwise break into two tiring legs.
