Private Jet Corsica to Tunis

Corsica to Tunis, departing from Calvi-Sainte-Catherine on the island’s northwestern coast, covers roughly 322 nautical miles and takes under an hour in the air, a distance best matched to a light jet or turboprop such as a Pilatus PC-12 or Embraer Phenom 100, aircraft that make the most sense economically on a hop this short. Calvi’s small airport suits the light aircraft typically chartered for island-hopping around the western Mediterranean during the summer season, with quick turnarounds the norm. Cruise on this brief sector rarely climbs past the mid-twenties of thousand feet before descent begins across the sea toward North Africa. Arrival into Tunis-Carthage International Airport brings passengers into a capital with its own dramatic coastal character, though one built on an entirely different historical foundation, from the Phoenician city of ancient Carthage to the Ottoman-era medina at its heart. A short drive from the airport leads to the ruins of Carthage itself, scattered along the coastline, and to the National Bardo Museum, home to one of the largest collections of Roman mosaics anywhere in the world. The whitewashed village of Sidi Bou Said, overlooking the Gulf of Tunis, offers a further stop for visitors with time to spare, its blue shutters not unlike the fishing villages of Corsica’s own coastline. This short sector particularly suits summer travellers island-hopping around the western Mediterranean, for whom a direct private flight is considerably more practical than the ferry and multiple transfers a journey between these two coastlines would otherwise require. Few sectors in the network cover so little distance while offering such a distinct change of setting.
