Private Jet Edmonton to Cavallo

Edmonton to Cavallo covers 5,060 nautical miles, requiring a heavy business jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or Global 6000 for the crossing, with cruise altitudes near 45,000 feet and a flight time approaching nine hours. Edmonton International Airport, along with the more central Edmonton City Centre Airport, serves the capital of Alberta, a city with deep ties to the energy industry and a growing base of long-range private aviation departures heading toward Europe and beyond. Cavallo lies at the far end of the crossing, a granite island within the Lavezzi archipelago off Corsica’s southern coast, reached only by helicopter since it has no runway of its own. The strait toward Sardinia forms part of a protected marine reserve, its clarity a defining feature of an island long favoured by a discreet clientele who value the handful of restaurants and villas over larger, more visible resort developments elsewhere on the coast. Given the considerable distance, this route is best suited to travellers planning a substantial European stay rather than a brief visit, with fuel and crew duty planning requiring early attention. For guests based in Alberta, it nonetheless represents one of the more direct paths to one of the Mediterranean’s most exclusive and tightly guarded small islands. Edmonton’s energy sector has long supported a base of experienced private aviation operators comfortable with long-range planning, which helps smooth the logistics of a crossing this substantial. For Alberta-based executives and their families, the appeal of the destination often lies precisely in how completely it removes them from the pace of daily business once the helicopter sets down on Cavallo’s small, sheltered helistrip.
